Navigating Conflict & Communication
An Interview with Robin Madson on our new enneagram-informed course
Maybe it’s your relationship with your spouse or a family member. Or maybe it’s your boss or a situation at work that has you tangled up in knots. Maybe it’s the political season, with tensions and rhetoric running high, or maybe you are just tired of seeing the same old scripts play out in your relationships over and over again. Maybe your relationships are fraught with conflict or tension, or you find yourself struggling to really connect, even with people you love the most. Maybe you’re just discovering your own voice and working to write a new script for yourself.
If so, I can relate, yes, to all of the above and more. And that is why over the past year, I have created a new course with fellow enneagram coach
on Navigating Conflict and Communication with some of the tools that helped me untangle some knots in my life.Navigating Conflict and Communication is an enneagram-informed course that explores four dimensions of our personalities that affect how we show up in conflict and in relationship with others. This course is not about teaching the enneagram, rather it is a reflective course designed to guide you through understanding some of your tendencies in relationships and some strategies for connecting well with others, even in the midst of conflict. Not every conflict is bad. Not every conflict is resolvable. But learning to navigate conflict can help us use it as a tool for deeper connection with others. It can help us know when to stay or when to walk away. And it can help us care for ourselves along the way.
There are six sections of the Navigating Conflict and Communication course. Each section includes video lessons you can watch on your own schedule, guided reflection for you to go deeper, and optional exercises to work through with a partner or a team. You will leave with more knowledge about yourself and practical tools to help you work through conflict and communicate well with those you love.
My friend and colleague Robin Madson, a fellow certified enneagram coach, has partnered with me on developing this course over the past year. This course is so much better for her input and insights over the past year. Together, we have wrestled with applying this content to our own relationships. We have shared stories, mishaps, and conflicts gone awry. We have sorted through action steps and reflection questions; we sought to understand concepts and sort through lenses very different from our own. Along the way, we continued to learn about ourselves and how we show up in our marriages, families, and organizations. We hope this course brings some of those stories to life and will encourage you as you lean into your own relationships.
Here is a brief conversation Robin and I had discussing the course and sharing our hopes for how this course can help you:
Robin is offering facilitated on-site retreats for those interested in bringing this course to their groups for a shared learning experience. Comment or reply to this post for more information.
And I am so excited to share the new online version of the course through Teachable. Learn more and register to be one of the first to experience this content in a new easy-to-use format designed to fit your schedule and your needs. Join us as we navigate conflict and communication, together!

It looks like good content thus far. Let me know when the full course becomes available.
